Job Description
TITLE
Registered Nurse - PACU

SCHEDULE
Shift: Day 07:30-18:00

ASSIGNMENT DETAILS
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 3 shifts per week

REQUIREMENTS
- License: IL license in hand required at the time of submittal; MO pending license accepted (must obtain MO or compact)
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS
- Experience: 2 years in PACU at a Level I trauma center; ICU/critical care experience required
- EMR: Epic charting experience
- Required skills:
- Dysrhythmia recognition and management
- Blood product administration, phlebotomy, IV starts
- Managing IV vasopressors / vasoactive drips
- ICP monitoring / invasive monitoring
- Care of ventilated patients / mechanical ventilation
- Recovery from general anesthesia; drains management
- Procedural experience: post-cardiac surgery, lobectomy, chest trauma, ex-lap/splenectomy, trauma patients

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor patients in post-anesthesia recovery following high-acuity surgical procedures.
- Manage care for patients with complex needs, including ventilated patients and those on vasoactive drips.
- Assess and respond to changes in patient condition, including recognizing and treating dysrhythmias.
- Administer medications and blood products, ensuring patient safety and efficacy.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.

COMPLIANCE / NOTES
- COVID-19 vaccine NOT required; Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
- Parking: $15/day or $70/month
- RTO limits: Max 7 days (manager approval required for more); no RTO allowed first week of assignment
- Relias EKG exam required (pre-start)
