Location: Buckeye, Arizona Department Name: Work Shift: Varied Job Category: Clinical Care Banner Health Emergency Services is opening a new, state‑of‑the‑art freestanding emergency department in Buckeye, Arizona. We are seeking experienced Paramedics to join our founding team. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience working in an Emergency Department and demonstrate compassion, kindness, and resilience in high‑pressure situations. We are currently hiring for full‑time and part‑time positions across multiple shifts. Competitive shift differentials include a flat $1 per hour for weekend shifts and an 18% premium for night shifts. Part‑time Shift Schedule Day: 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Overnight: 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. Position Summary This position is responsible for patient care in the emergency department as assigned under the medical direction of the base hospital EMS Medical Director. The paramedic assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and professional standards. Core Functions Evaluate patient acuity and ensure appropriate matching of care needs to unit resources. Perform basic patient care within scope: positioning, transportation, phlebotomy, ECGs, maintenance of spinal precautions, medication administration or monitoring as ordered by a physician. Perform cardiovascular monitoring and management within scope of training. Manage airways within scope of training and state guidelines, including oxygen administration, tracheal suctioning, ventilation assistance, and monitoring end‑tidal CO₂ and pulse‑ox. Actively participate in resuscitation of critical patients and observe patients through diagnostic treatment. Perform other duties as assigned based on competency and training. Recognize changes in patient status that require notification of charge or primary nurse and physician; keep them informed. Document assessments, reassessments, and patient progress on appropriate forms, including response to interventions and discharge plans. Interact with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families, and external contacts to report and clarify information. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Current, valid Paramedic certification or license within the state of practice and ongoing maintenance. Current BLS and ACLS certification required; PALS required for ED or pediatric work. Moderate experience: 2‑4 years of relevant work experience or 12‑18 months in an educational program. Preferred Qualifications FP‑C or CCT‑P certification if working in ICU, Burn, or CVCU.
