Pay Rate: $27.26 to $32.07/HR

Duration: 12 months

Location: Hanover, MD

Our client is a large Aerospace Industry Manufacturer.

We are looking for a Composite Assembly Technician 2

\n
• We are looking for a Manufacturing Technician 2 to support our Panel Assembly department.
\n
• This position is on-site and cannot be performed remotely due to the nature of the role.
\n
• Performs aerospace panel consolidation operations, including honeycomb core preparation, film adhesive compaction, foaming/expanding adhesive application, adhesive mixing and bonding, honeycomb core cell adhesive filling, vacuum bagging, and compaction.
\n
• Uses engineering drawings, work instructions, and process specifications to fabricate flight hardware while ensuring dimensional accuracy and workmanship requirements.
\n
• Supports inspection activities, troubleshooting, and continuous process improvement while working closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Program teams.
\n
• Performs functions associated with all manufacturing operations , including working with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies.
\n
• Uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment.
\n
• Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process.
\n
• Works with engineers in conducting experiments.
\n

Requirements:

\n
• High School Diploma or GED required
\n
• Minimum 2 years' previous honeycomb panel fabrication or aerospace mechanical assembly experience.
\n
• Strong mechanical aptitude, including the ability to read and interpret drawings
\n
• Experience with hand tools and good math/geometry skills.
\n
• Candidate must be able to read and follow written manufacturing instructions and technical procedures.
\n
• Operate equipment such as hand tools and p ower machinery for processing metals, composites, and wood.
\n
• Able to work while on cure cart platens as well as above on diving boards for brief periods of time.
\n
• Must work closely with lead technicians and supervisor to meet build requirements and schedules.
\n
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
\n
• Demonstrates a high level of concern for the safety of self and others.
\n
• Willing to work flexible schedules as needed to meet delivery dates
\n
• US Citizenship Required

Preferred Qualifications for Manufacturing Technician 2

\n
• Attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
\n
• Computer skills including MS Word and Excel are a plus.
\n
• Previous fabrication (honeycomb panel) experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
\n
• Experience preparing/mixing epoxy and silicone adhesives for mechanical and thermal component installation in honeycomb panels.
\n
• Experience working with thin metal facesheet material.
\n
• Experience handling hazardous materials in accordance with OSHA and industry standards
