Pharmacist Extern (PRN)

Bradley Medical Center, LLC is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Pharmacist Extern (PRN) to assist our pharmacy team with various tasks under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. This position provides valuable hands-on experience in a clinical pharmacy setting.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, including sterile compounding and repackaging, in accordance with established procedures and regulations.
• Process medication orders accurately and efficiently, including entering prescriptions into the pharmacy system and generating labels.
• Maintain accurate inventory records, assist with ordering and receiving medications, and manage expired or recalled drugs.
• Provide basic patient education under pharmacist supervision regarding medication usage, storage, and potential side effects.
• Answer telephone inquiries, direct calls appropriately, and provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare professionals.
• Assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment.
• Perform administrative tasks as assigned, such as filing, record-keeping, and data entry.
• Participate in pharmacy quality improvement initiatives and adhere to all hospital and departmental policies and procedures.

Job Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) program.
• Possession of a current and valid Pharmacist Extern permit/license as required by the state of practice.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications and willingness to learn pharmacy-specific software.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and perform other physical demands of the position.
• Prior pharmacy experience (e.g., pharmacy technician, volunteer) preferred but not required.
