This role performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on building systems and on finishing and print equipment, including paper cutters, folders, laminators, glue pots, press machines, and shrink wrappers. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, self-directed problem solver with general working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and plumbing systems, who can read blueprints and electrical schematics and can fabricate or repair basic tooling and dies.Essential Job DutiesEquipment: Perform PM and repair cutters (blades, clamps), folders (rollers, belts, sensors), laminators (heaters, rollers, controls), glue pots (heaters, pumps, nozzles), presses (bearings, gears, interlocks), and shrink wrappers (heat tunnels, sealing bars, conveyors). Find root causes of recurring downtime.Electrical: Read schematics and wiring diagrams; troubleshoot motors, starters, relays, sensors, solenoids, and control circuits; handle basic building electrical such as lighting, switches, and receptacles.Pneumatic: Install, adjust, and repair cylinders, valves, regulators, tubing, and air lines; find and fix air leaks.Building and plumbing: Carry out general repairs (drywall, painting, doors, locks, ceiling tiles); fix leaks, clear drains, replace fixtures and valves; do basic HVAC upkeep such as filter changes.Documentation: Read blueprints and manuals; complete work orders and PM logs; track spare parts and recommend purchases.Safety: Follow lockout/tagout, machine guarding, OSHA, and PPE rules; report hazards immediately; handle chemicals per SDS.Required Skills/AbilitiesHigh school diploma or GED5+ years of industrial or commercial maintenance experience (print, packaging, or manufacturing preferred)Proven ability to repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic equipmentAbility to read blueprints and electrical schematicsBasic tool and die making, plumbing, and pneumatic skillsAvailability for first shift, with overtime flexibilityKnowledge of lockout/tagout and industrial safetyEducation/ExperienceTechnical school certificate or associate degree in industrial maintenance or mechatronicsPress, Bindery or finishing equipment experiencePLC or touchscreen control knowledgeBasic welding; forklift certificationPosition DetailsShift: Monday – Friday, work hours TBDDirect Reports: NoFLSA Status: Hourly, Non-ExemptCompensation: $28 – $32 hourlyLocation: Onsite, in-personBenefitsHealth Insurance: medical, dental & visionCompany paid Basic Life/AD&D & Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Voluntary Benefit Plans: Life/AD&D, FSA, Short-term disability, pet insurance, accident insurance401(k) with company contributionCompany paid holidays (10 days) & PTO packageWorking Conditions and Physical RequirementsThis position operates in a manufacturing plant environment and is exposed to fluctuating temperatures in certain areas; noises; working around machinery with moving parts; working in close proximity to others; potential trip hazards due to materials, tools, or equipment in the work area; and possible exposure to strong odors.
