Job Summary
Operating Room Open Heart Specialist in Reno, Nevada. This position involves providing advanced perioperative care for cardiovascular surgery patients, supporting the surgical team during complex procedures, and ensuring adherence to safety and confidentiality standards. The role requires a dedicated healthcare professional with relevant surgical experience and certifications.

Job Details

• Schedule: Dayshift, 10-hour shifts, with a minimum of 40 hours per week. The shift times are from 6:30 am to 5:00 pm, with on-call duties scheduled for approximately 11 shifts per month, including nights and weekends.
• Required Qualifications: Certifications such as NBSTSA, current BLS certification, completion of a surgical technologist program, and at least 2 years of experience as a cardiovascular operating room surgical technologist (first and second scrub). Travel experience is also required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of all basic surgical setups, experience with room turnovers, and familiarity with departmental standards for counts of instruments, sponges, and sharps.
• Additional Information: Must be able to anticipate surgical needs, assist with patient positioning, support room preparation and cleanup, and maintain strict confidentiality and privacy standards. Position requires proficiency in passing instruments, preparing supplies, and supporting the surgical team throughout procedures.
