Job Title: Shipping/Receiving Clerk

Shift: 2-10pm, Mon-Fri

Work Days/Hours: 5 days a week @ 40 hours.  The 2nd shift hours are  2-10pm. There will be training on 1st shift from 8-4 until associate is ready to work on their own.

Position Overview:

Assist in the achievement, and act in support of the company goals with respect to Shipping and Receiving department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Shipping:

• Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.

• Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers; inserts items into containers using spacers, fillers, and protective padding.

• Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.

Receiving:

• Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and forwards information to sales or purchasing to contact the shipper to rectify damages and shortages.

• Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.

• Forward the incoming paperwork with the actual counts to the office.

• Routes items to inspection with incoming paperwork attached.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

Education and Experience:

• Technical or High School degree.

Responsibility and Decision Making Authority:

• Perform the tasks and duties of the position with minimal supervision.

Working Hours:

• Must be flexible and have ability to work hours as dictated by priorities.

Working Environment:

• Manufacturing environment.

Tools and Equipment Used:

• Scale, hand truck, pallet truck, and forklift trucks.
