# Family Gallery AssistantCharlotte, NC 28202## OverviewPosition TypePart Time## Description**THE MINT MUSEUM CAREER OPPORTUNITY****TITLE:** Family Gallery Assistant, Part-Time **DEPARTMENT:** Learning & Engagement **DATE PREPARED**: 9/25/25 **REPORTS TO:** Head of Family & Studio Programs **FLSA STATUS:** Non-Exempt**GENERAL SUMMARY:** This part-time position will provide critical assistance to the Learning & Engagement department by staffing and maintaining the Lewis Family Gallery interactive space and assisting with other programming central to the museum’s mission.* This team member will serve as the main point of contact with visitors to the Lewis Family Gallery (LFG), aiding in day-to-day oversight and management of the space. The LFG is a hands-on interactive space designed for visitors of all ages, including children and their families, to explore and learn about the museum collection through creative artmaking and play.**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:*** Staff the LFG during peak hours, maintaining the space, welcoming visitors, and sharing gallery rules and policy. Clean and organize the Lewis Family Gallery hands-on activities and equipment. Assist in tracking inventory and compiling supply orders.* Track family gallery attendance.* Help prepare and maintain materials and spaces for Learning & Engagement initiatives. Assist with facilitation programs, as needed.## Qualifications**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION:****EDUCATION:** High School Diploma or equivalent. Degree work in Art, Education, Child Development, Museum Studies, or related fields preferred.**PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:** Experience working in a professional or educational environment.**KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:** Experience working with children or families. Experience working with a variety of art materials. Excellent verbal communication skills. Knowledge of computers including word processing, Word, Excel, Outlook, social media, general office equipment.**WORKING CONDITIONS:** Most work will be done in or adjacent to a hands-on gallery space. Flexibility to work at both museum locations, and occasionally offsite.**HOURS:** Wednesday afternoon/evenings, Saturdays and Sunday afternoons, approx.
