Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Ultrasound Technologist (Sonographer), you will utilize advanced sonographic equipment to record detailed images of blood, organs, tissues, and bodily masses, including unborn fetuses, providing critical visual data for diagnosis and prenatal care. This position is represented by SEIU-UHW. Every day you will directly interact with patients, explaining procedures, answering questions, and preparing them for scans. You will meticulously operate sonographic equipment, adjusting settings and patient positions to ensure clear, diagnostic images. You will monitor and care for patients to ensure their safety and comfort, select and examine images for pathologies, and present preliminary findings to Physicians. To be successful in this role, you will possess excellent patient service and communication skills, sharp eyesight, and meticulous attention to detail. You will demonstrate strong technical proficiency, sound judgment, and advanced decision-making skills to effectively capture and interpret sonographic data, ensuring optimal diagnostic support. Provides excellent customer service Demonstrates technical competence Acts with a sense of urgency Proactively contributes to organizational excellence Demonstrates effective stewardship Continuously challenges status quo Job Requirements Required High School Graduate or GED General Studies Satisfactory completion of a formal AMA school of Ultrasound Technology or equivalent to an AMA Technologic program. Determination made by CHWMFH.R. department in conjunction with the American Diagnostic Medical Sonographers One of the following: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, Registered Cardiac Electr, Registered Cardiac Sonographer CCI, Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Adult Echo, Registered Technologist Vascular Sonography, or Registered Vascular Technologist Basic Life Support - CPR (AHA BLS) Preferred One (1) year experience as an Ultrasound Technician is preferred Six (6) months experience in Abdomen, OB, Vascular, small parts environment is preferred Where You'll Work Dignity Health Medical Foundation, established in 1993, is a California nonprofit public benefit corporation with care centers throughout California.
