Steward Position

The steward is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen, ensuring that back-of-house operations run smoothly. The position focuses primarily on ware washing, waste management, and chemical safety compliance by ensuring a clean and compliant environment, this position supports the culinary team.

The dishwasher is responsible for the following:

• Wash, sanitize, and stock all plates, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils.
• Properly store and refill clean dishes, utensils, and equipment in designated areas.
• Sweep, squeegee, and mop floors. Wipe down walls, ceiling tiles, and ventilation hoods according to the cleaning schedule.
• Deep-clean high-use appliances including stoves, ovens, grills, freezers, and refrigerators as needed.
• Collect, sort, and remove trash, compostables, and recyclables. Break down cardboard boxes and clean designated trash receptacles.
• Organize clean inventory in storage areas. Supply cooks and front-of-house staff with clean service items throughout the shift.
• Ensure all machinery is operating properly and report equipment malfunctions to management.

Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, for the entire duration of a shift.
• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Flexible schedule, available to work mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with team.

Preferences:

• Previous dishwashing or kitchen experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to cleanliness and organization.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Must work well independently and as part of a team.

Pay Rate: $21.95/hour
