This is an on-site Patient Advocate position with a growing specialty pharmacy in Pittsburgh, PA. Responsibilities primarily focus on managing call queue, data entry, coordinating care, and triaging fulfillment issues as they arise. We are flexible on prior pharmacy experience, but excellent customer service skills are a must!

About the Role

The Patient Advocate - Operations is responsible for handling the full spectrum of pharmacy operations, including order management, reimbursement, fulfillment, and customer service.

 

Responsibilities

·       Process and verify incoming prescription orders accurately and efficiently.

·       Coordinate with pharmacists to clarify prescription details and resolve any discrepancies.

·       Handle some aspects of insurance verification and reimbursement processes.

·       Oversee the fulfillment process, ensuring timely and accurate dispensing of medications.

·       Coordinate with the pharmacy team to prioritize and process orders based on urgency and patient needs.

·       Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.

·       Assist patients with some billing inquiries and payment processing.

·       Participate in quality assurance activities to maintain high standards of service.

 

Qualifications

·       High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in pharmacy technology preferred.

·       Must have prior customer service experience, ideally in call center or healthcare setting.

·       Prior experience in a pharmacy setting preferred but not required.

·       Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.

·       Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

·       Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

·       Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
