Physician Nocturnist Hospitalist Needed in The Woodlands

Nocturnist Hospitalist – The Woodlands Location: The Woodlands, TX 77380. Memorial Hermann Medical Group, a physician‑employed network, is seeking a Board Eligible or Board Certified Hospitalist (Nocturnist) to join the Hospitalist Group at The Woodlands Hospital. Internal Medicine Full time with benefits and an additional week off annually 7 on 7 off schedule Closed ICU No procedures required Hospital has its own RRT/Code Team EMR training provided for EPIC Principal Accountabilities Attend and actively participate in hospital multidisciplinary rounds on all patients when the hospitalist service is the primary service, and when appropriate or requested for co‑management or consultative roles. Cover Code Blue and Rapid Responses in accordance with campus code committee recommendations. Provide admission services for the Emergency Department, incoming transfer patients, and direct or emergent admissions per the on‑call schedule and patient assignment guidelines. Provide co‑management services for subspecialty services when within the scope and designation of privileges for the hospitalist provider. Provide consultative services for members of the Medical Staff when within the scope and designation of privileges for the hospitalist provider. Accept transfers of care from other clinical service lines when the patient is deemed appropriate, with proper hand‑off communication. Provide transfer‑center call for incoming non‑critical‑care medical patients per the on‑call schedule. Provide timely evaluation of patients admitted to the hospital per Medical Executive Committee bylaws. Abide and conform to hospital tenants, guidelines, and bylaws. Provide physician‑to‑physician sign‑out for patients transitioning to post‑acute facilities. Provide internal sign‑out at transitions of care consistent with standards of care. Provide 72 hours of narcotic prescriptions for patients transitioning to skilled nursing facilities if clinically appropriate. Respond to clinical queries promptly. Participate in nursing and staff education when solicited by CNO, CMO, or COO. Document history and physicals within 12 hours. Document discharge summaries within 48 hours of discharge order. Maintain current understanding of the regulatory environment related to status patients consistent with national guidelines. Provide post‑discharge coverage for appropriate home‑health orders up to 2 weeks or until primary care physician is seen. Encourage in‑network utilization of resources for continuity of care unless patient preference or unavailable expertise dictates otherwise. Respond in a timely manner to pages and return calls from nursing staff unless it would impact patient safety or experience. Provide additional coverage per campus protocol during emergencies or disasters. Participate in continuing education activities to maintain or enhance knowledge and skills. Maintain ACLS certification. Direct patient care throughout the health care system via consult orders. Provide consultation services in collaboration with attending or primary care provider. Communicate with the attending physician, nurse, family, and other treatment team members to obtain the appropriate patient care plan. Follow performance improvement initiatives and collaborate with Memorial Hermann physicians, risk managers, and case managers to resolve clinical, administrative, or technical issues. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to MH compliance privacy policies. Ensure safe care for patients, staff, and visitors, adhering to all Memorial Hermann policies within budgetary and time‑management constraints. Promote professional growth by meeting mandatory and continuing education requirements, supporting departmental goals, and serving as preceptor or mentor.
