ABOUT THE ROLE We're looking for a Regional Director to lead our Houston portfolio. This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Houston, TX, with flexibility for partial work from home and regular on-site visits across the Houston area. You’ll oversee a portfolio of communities and provide strategic leadership to the onsite and remote teams responsible for HOA and CDD operations, amenity management, and resident programming. Day to day, you’ll set performance goals, review operational and financial reports, ensure compliance with community standards, and back up your community managers as they resolve resident concerns. You’ll also collaborate with cross-functional teams to strengthen field operations and client relationships, and you’ll have room to bring new ideas to how we approach lifestyle programming. This is a leadership role in the fullest sense: mentoring team members, driving regional initiatives, and championing Kai’s values in every interaction with residents, partners, and staff. WHAT YOU’LL DO Lead, coach, and develop community managers and onsite teams across a portfolio of Houston-area communities Set performance goals and review operational and financial reports for each community in your region Ensure compliance with community standards and governing requirements Support community managers in resolving resident concerns quickly and thoughtfully Partner with cross-functional teams to optimize field operations and strengthen client relationships Bring creative, innovative approaches to lifestyle programming and resident events Lead regional initiatives and represent Kai’s values with residents, boards, partners, and staff WHAT YOU’LL BRING 5+ years of experience in regional or multi-site leadership, ideally in community management, property management, or a related service-focused industry Strong skills in operations oversight, budget management, and performance monitoring across multiple locations or teams Proficiency in relationship-building, client account management, and stakeholder communication, with a focus on resident satisfaction The ability to lead and develop diverse teams, including coaching, conflict resolution, and change management Comfort with hybrid work, including regular on-site visits across the Houston area and effective remote collaboration Knowledge of HOA governance, or a genuine willingness to learn the regulatory and compliance side of community management Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of implementing process improvements A bachelor’s degree in business, management, public administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience Commitment to Kai’s values of Kindness, Action, and Innovation, and to inclusive, non-discriminatory leadership practices WHY KAI We’re a growing, people-first company, and our clients are never just an account number.
