# Clinical Health Psychologist - Parkinson's and Movement Disorders SpecialtyApply: Kansas City, KS: Full time: Posted Today: R-57018# Position TitleClinical Health Psychologist - Parkinson's and Movement Disorders SpecialtyLandon Center on Aging## Position Summary / Career Interest:Clinical Health Psychologist - Parkinson's and Movement Disorders SpecialtyThe Division of Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at The University of Kansas Health System is seeking applications for a Clinical Health Psychologist – Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders Specialty to serve individuals as part of our interdisciplinary Parkinson’s and movement disorders team, which includes neurology, neurosurgery, neuropsychology, dietetics, research, social work, physical therapy, and speech & language pathology. The individual selected for this position will join a rapidly growing, 24-member Psychology Division at the Assistant Professor level.**Key Responsibilities:**This position includes assessment, treatment, psychoeducation, and triage of outpatients with mental health needs; presurgical psychological evaluations for patients preparing for neurosurgical procedures, including deep brain stimulation (DBS); and the provision of evidence-based cognitive behavioral therapy targeting physical symptoms and medical condition management. The successful candidate will participate in the education and supervision of psychology interns within our APA-accredited training program and provide additional didactic instruction and supervision to medical fellows, residents, and students. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with faculty on scholarly activities and providing health education and outreach to the local Parkinson's disease community.**Required Qualifications:*** Doctorate Degree in Clinical/Counseling Psychology from an APA or CPA accredited doctoral program (with an APA approved clinical internship)* One-year of relevant post-doctoral experience in health psychology* Must be fully licensed or licensable in the State of Kansas (primary) and Missouri by the time of the appointment**Preferred Qualifications:*** Experience working on a multidisciplinary team* Training in cognitive behavioral therapy protocols especially relevant for chronic physical illness populations (e.g., CBT for insomnia and for chronic pain; behavioral techniques for sexual dysfunction, chronic illness management, smoking cessation)**Benefits and Compensation:*** Competitive compensation package* Generous retirement contribution* Relocation assistance* Health, dental, and vision benefits* LTD/STD and life insurance* Professional liability insurance**About The University of Kansas Hospital:**Recognized as one of the top hospitals in the United States by U.S. News & World Report, The University of Kansas Hospital is a 1045-bed academic medical center and Level 1 trauma center, with a mission to lead in the discovery of new knowledge, deliver outstanding patient care in this region and beyond, and educate the healthcare professionals of tomorrow.
