Registered Nurse Research Interventionist

The Cancer Outcomes Research and Education department is seeking a Registered Nurse Research Interventionist to facilitate the delivery of a Supportive Care research intervention. The interventionist will lead a virtual supportive care program for patients with Triple-negative breast cancer who are transitioning to surveillance. Responsibilities include leading small-group sessions focused on psychoeducation, coping with fear of cancer recurrence, stress management, mindfulness, and basic cognitive-behavioral strategies, in accordance with the study protocol. Prior experience in oncology, psychosocial care, or group-based interventions is preferred.

Summary: Responsible for leading and conducting research projects to advance nursing knowledge, improve patient care outcomes, and contribute to evidence-based practices. This role involves designing and implementing research studies, collecting and analyzing data, and disseminating findings through publications and presentations.

Essential Functions

• Lead and manage nursing research projects from conceptualization to completion.
• Develop research protocols, design data collection methods, and create project timelines.
• Conduct comprehensive literature reviews to inform research design and identify gaps in nursing knowledge.
• Implement data collection methods, including surveys, interviews, observations, or clinical data extraction.
• Analyze research data using statistical methods and software.
• Interpret results, draw conclusions, and make recommendations based on research findings.
• Prepare and submit research findings for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
• Ensure research projects comply with ethical standards and institutional review board (IRB) requirements.

Qualifications

Education: Associate's Degree Nursing required and Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferred.

Licenses and Credentials: Registered Nurse [RN - State License] - Generic - HR Only required.

Experience: Clinical nursing experience 2-3 years required and Experience in nursing research, including study design, data collection, and analysis 3-5 years required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Strong knowledge of research methodologies and statistical analysis.
• Excellent communication and writing skills for publication and presentation.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations, ethical standards, and IRB processes.
• Demonstrated problem-solving, critical decision-making, and professional judgment skills.
