You will align your teaching to district and state curriculum, assess students’ learning, and modify instruction to meet each student’s needs, especially English learners and students with disabilities. Responsibilities Remain up to date regarding curriculum content. Plan and assess curriculum and instruction effectively. Mentor students’ understanding of the curriculum and adjust instruction, materials, or assessments when appropriate. Manage classroom environment effectively. Deliver clear learning goals, using appropriate instructional and questioning techniques. Use innovative approaches and instructional strategies, including technology, to increase student learning and confidence. Promote high standards and expectations for student achievement. Promote equity and appreciation of diversity; implement specific strategies for students with special needs, 504 plans, and second language learners. Ensure equal educational opportunity for all, regardless of race, color, gender, age, marital status, religion, gender identity, national origin, sexual orientation, homelessness, or disability. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Appropriate Massachusetts DESE license in History/Social Science 5–12. SEI Endorsement. Business‑Acquired (BA) degree. Preferred Qualifications Teaching experience in the content area. Experience supporting students with special needs. Ability to speak Albanian, Arabic, Nepali, Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese, or an African language. Experience teaching English language learners. Experience with second‑language acquisition. Licensure from another state accepted if qualifying for a temporary DESE license (must possess documented proof of at least three years of work under that license). DESE license application and fee are required. Work Year 185 days. Salary Salary scale ranges from $61,410 to $113,833 per year, based on educational attainment.
