About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Acute Care – Medical Surgical Duration: 17 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in hospital medical surgical units License: License required Certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS Must-Have: Minimum of 1 year experience in hospital medical surgical units Description: Strict 75-mile radius rule applies. Candidates must be within 75 miles of the address on their driver's license to the facility. Must include a copy of the driver's license for submission. Unit has a capacity of 36 beds. ACLS certification is preferred, while BLS is required. Staffing ratios are 6 patients per RN/LPN and 12 patients per CNA. The facility utilizes Meditech for electronic medical records. Charge nurses and nurse aides are present on the unit. Every other weekend work is required. Holidays are also required. Nurses wear white tops and hunter green pants. Telemetry is available on the unit. Nurses are not required to read strips. There is a hospitalist in-house 24/7. There is no dedicated IV team, but the PICC team may be consulted if needed. Respiratory therapy is available 24/7. Nurses may occasionally float to other units. Floor-specific orientation consists of 3 shifts. Common diagnoses and types of patients include CHF, COPD, ESRD, pneumonia, renal failure, sickle cell crisis, orthopedic surgery, bariatric surgery, altered mental status, and sepsis. Cancellation policy requires 12 hours of availability every 2 weeks. The role does not require a BSN. Trauma level is unspecified. Care setting is acute. Nursing division. The shift notes indicate a schedule of 7 AM to 7 PM, with every other weekend being required.
