Water Tank Inspector

The Water Tank Inspector is responsible for managing and performing inspection of existing water storage tanks and daily construction management and inspection services for new construction of water storage tanks. Types of tanks include elevated, ground, hydro pneumatic, steel and concrete tanks. Responsibilities: Work performed on projects may include but is not limited to the following services: Existing water tank condition inspection Coating application inspections Inspection of welds Assistance with writing reports on tank condition inspections Inspection of third-party cell phone carrier facilities installed on water storage tanks Construction management Performing field inspection of Contractor's operations to see that they comply with contract documents; Preparing daily and weekly reports on work accomplished by Contractor; Reviewing periodic pay estimates for accuracy with Contractor; Preparing sketches and assembling data for Engineer's use in making changes to the project; Keeping diaries and making reports on work accomplished and/or noted deficiencies; Communicating effectively with all the parties involved in the project, including the Owner and Owner's operational and field staff on a regular basis; Keeping them apprised of field conditions and maintaining active communications and excellent rapport with the Owner and the entire project team throughout the construction process Preparing As Built Drawings Required Qualifications: Must have a High School diploma or State Equivalency Certificate. Must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. Basic computer skills (Word & Excel) required Must be flexible and able to work in a team environment and/or independently Must be capable of climbing ladders, working at heights on scaffolding, and entering confined spaces Tank and coating inspection experience Proven work ethic and willingness to learn and complete training provided We will train the right person with the right attitude Must be willing to work overtime, when required by the project assignment. Daily travel should be expected. Preferred Qualifications: Associate degree or higher in a field related to engineering, technology, or construction, or other related advanced certificate preferred and highly desired NACE/AMPP certification or willingness to work toward certification Preferred applicants have demonstrated inspection and management experience with tank construction and tank rehabilitation projects requiring monitoring a contractor's work for conformance to the design plans, specifications, and general permit requirements Physical Requirements (Essential Functions): This position requires the ability to perform a variety of physical tasks in the field as part of the essential job functions. Duties may include: Walking and navigating across rough or uneven terrain such as mud, rocks, grass, dirt, and other unpaved surfaces Moving around active project sites, which may involve climbing ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, or poles Performing physical activities such as bending, twisting, kneeling, and climbing Remaining in a stationary position—either standing or sitting for extended periods of time Repetitive motions involving the wrists, hands, and/or fingers Lifting and/or moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds Driving to and from project sites Must be able to function safely in an environment with potential risks The work environment may include exposure to a range of environmental conditions, including high and low temperatures, precipitation, and other outdoor elements. The expected compensation range for this position is $70,000.00 - $135,000.00. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
