Registered Nurse

As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for prescribing medication dosages, routes, and frequencies based on patient characteristics at the order of a Physician. You will develop treatment plans grounded in scientific rationale and professional guidelines, prescribe medications as legally authorized, and counsel patients on drug regimens and potential interactions. Your role will also include recommending interventions for health risk behaviors, educating patients on self-management of illnesses, and tailoring instructions to individual needs.

Responsibilities

• Prescribe medication dosages, routes, and frequencies based on patient characteristics as ordered by a Physician.
• Develop treatment plans based on scientific rationale and professional practice guidelines.
• Prescribe medications based on efficacy, safety, and cost as legally authorized.
• Counsel patients about drug regimens and possible side effects or interactions with other substances.
• Recommend interventions to modify behavior associated with health risks.
• Educate patients about self-management of acute or chronic illnesses, tailoring instructions to individual circumstances.

Essential Skills

• Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• 1-4 years of experience, ideally in a primary care setting
• Registered Nurse - NYS
• CPR Certification

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with case management and managed care
• Proficiency in eClinicalWorks
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing
• Possess supervisory experience
• Knowledge of nursing standards and competence in nursing skills
• Ability to triage patient calls or walk-ins
• Experience with substance abuse population
• Strong commitment to public and community health
• Ability to work with individuals from diverse ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds

Work Environment

The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, with 1-2 late nights per week until 7 PM, allowing a later start time on those days. The role is based in various locations, including Yonkers, New Rochelle, White Plains, and Rockland County (Haverstraw, Nyack & Spring Valley), which are all approximately 10 minutes apart. The position is within a Federally Qualified, Non-Profit Health Center, serving communities in New York. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of White Plains, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $52.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
