Sonographer I: Capital Region Medical Center Radiology

Shift: Part time as needed between Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Department: Radiology - Capital Region Medical Center Compensation: Base Pay Range: $35.57/HR About the Job MU Health Care is seeking a passionate and dedicated professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a keen understanding of data flow within the modality work area, be proactive in improving systems and services, and be attentive to patient satisfaction. The role requires instruction to residents, fellows, students, and staff on ultrasonography equipment and procedures, interaction with patients following the AIDET principles (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Expectation, Thank You), confidentiality, current certification, certifiability, and adherence to attendance guidelines. Detailed Job Description Articulate a precise understanding of how data flows in and out of the modality work area; be attentive to patient satisfaction results and collaborate with the management team to improve the department and facility. Seek ways to improve systems and services. Assist with providing instruction to residents, fellows, students, or other staff regarding ultrasonography equipment and procedures. Demonstrate ability to meet and sustain departmental expectations while completing work assignments related to patient care in an ethical manner. Maintain equipment integrity with careful manipulation, complete required quality control checks routinely, and assist the Medical Physicist in performing additional quality assurance testing as needed. Demonstrate sustained ability when interacting with patients, following the AIDET principles. Ensure confidentiality of all patient information is maintained. Maintain current certifications and licensure status. Understand time‑clock expectations and adhere to attendance and punctuality guidelines. May complete unit‑specific duties as outlined in department documents. Required Qualifications Registry eligible. Sonography‑related certification from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within two (2) years as a condition of continued employment in this job classification. Preferred Qualifications Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department. Physical Demands The position is very active and requires ambulating, reaching, and moving objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs. The role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. This position is in a health care facility open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
