Civil Engineer - Land Development On-site

About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer Land Development to oversee commercial residential and mixed-use development projects from initial planning through construction and completion.
This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with strong project management skills technical expertise and the ability to coordinate contractors consultants and regulatory authorities while ensuring projects meet deadlines budgets and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage land development projects from design and permitting through construction and completion.
- Oversee project schedules budgets cost estimates and resource planning.
- Coordinate civil engineering designs site plans grading stormwater systems utilities and infrastructure.
- Manage contractors consultants bids contracts invoices and change orders.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations building codes permits and development requirements.
- Conduct site visits monitor construction progress and resolve project challenges.
- Maintain quality standards and facilitate the timely completion of development projects.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering.
- 7 years of experience in land development covering commercial residential or mixed-use projects.
- Professional Engineer (PE) licence in Virginia or the ability to obtain licence reciprocity within six months.
- Strong knowledge of construction drawings specifications contracts budgeting and scheduling.
- Experience with project management tools such as Procore Bluebeam or Primavera.
- Excellent communication coordination analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred: OSHA 30 certification.
