2nd Shift Manufacturing Production SupervisorLacon, IL Position Summary: We are seeking a hands-on 2nd Shift Production Supervisor to lead our manufacturing team. You will manage a team of 10–20 operators and technicians. Your primary focus will be ensuring safety, maintaining quality standards, and meeting daily production targets.Shift Schedule2nd shift Monday - Friday with occasional weekend overtime may be required based on production needs.Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership: Manage, train, and mentor less than 20 shift employees.Daily Operations: Oversee daily extrusion line setups, operations, and teardowns.Safety Enforcement: Maintain strict adherence to OSHA regulations and company safety policies.Quality Control: Monitor product dimensions and visuals to minimize scrap rates.Troubleshooting: Assist technicians with mechanical and process issues on extrusion machinery.Performance Tracking: Complete shift logs, production reports, and attendance tracking.Continuous Improvement: Implement lean manufacturing practices to optimize workflow efficiency.QualificationsExperience: Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.Industry Knowledge: Background in plastics manufacturing or similar industries such as metal, lumber, automotive, or aerospace.Technical Skills: Strong mechanical aptitudeLeadership: Proven track record of managing and motivating small teams (under 20 people).Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills for cross-shift handoffs.Education: High School Diploma or GED required; technical or post-secondary degree is a plus.BenefitsCompetitive salary with a 2nd shift differential.Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.401(k) matching program.Paid time off and holiday pay.
