Join a growing heavy industrial manufacturer as a CNC expert who can independently set up, program, edit, and run both lathes and mills. This is a direct-hire, first-shift opportunity built for a self-reliant machinist who takes pride in quality and thrives in a team-centered shop.

• Location: Ashland, VA
• Shift: 1st Shift
• Compensation: $33.00 – $44.00 per hour
• Hours: 40–56 per week (overtime and some Saturdays as needed)
• Hire Type: Direct Hire

You’ll begin by reviewing engineering drawings and GD&T, selecting tooling, and planning your setups. You’ll program or edit G-code as needed, set tool and work offsets, and run first-article parts to verify dimensions. Throughout the day, you’ll hold tight tolerances, inspect parts with calipers, micrometers, and gauges, and adjust feeds and speeds to maintain quality and throughput. When issues arise, you’ll troubleshoot machining, tooling, or programming challenges, keep the machine and work area tidy, and perform routine maintenance to keep everything running smoothly.

• Set up, program, edit, and operate CNC lathes and/or milling machines
• Produce precision components from engineering drawings and specifications
• Perform tooling changes, dial in offsets, and complete production setups
• Inspect using micrometers, calipers, and precision gauges
• Maintain tight tolerances and high quality standards
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and programming issues
• Conduct routine maintenance and sustain a clean, organized work cell

• 3+ years of CNC machining experience (preferred)
• Hands-on capability with CNC lathes, CNC mills, or both
• Ability to independently set up, program, edit, and operate CNC machines
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation
• Skilled with precision metrology tools
• Deep understanding of tooling, machining processes, and feeds/speeds
• Mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting ability
• Willing to work overtime and Saturdays when required
