This temporary position with the Department of Elder Affairs Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program involves conducting routine access visits and investigating complaints about services in long-term care facilities. The ombudsman answers phones, maintains documentation systems, travels to facilities to assess and resolve resident complaints, and assists with administrative tasks under the supervision of the District Ombudsman Manager. The role requires certification as an ombudsman and a valid Florida driver's license. Good organizational skills and ability to handle telephone calls courteously and effectively Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing Ability to conduct assessments, fact-finding interviews, and thorough investigations Knowledge of basic investigative techniques and rules governing Ombudsman investigations Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Windows 2000 Valid Florida driver's license and ability to travel to facilities #J-18808-Ljbffr DGS Office of External Affairs
