Job Details

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients with behavioral health and psychiatric conditions
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and monitor mental and physical health status
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Observe, document, and report changes in patient behavior and condition
• Implement individualized care plans and therapeutic interventions
• Assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques when necessary
• Promote a safe, therapeutic, and supportive patient environment
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and coping strategies
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation

Requirements

• Active RN License in Missouri
• Minimum 2 years of recent Behavioral Health or Psychiatric nursing experience
• BLS Certification required
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification preferred
• Strong understanding of psychiatric disorders and therapeutic communication techniques
• Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain calm and effective during crisis situations
• Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care
