ASSURE Patient Specialist - Elmhurst, IL (1099 Contractor, Per Diem/On Call)

Elmhurst, IL Kestra Medical Technologies, Inc. specializes in external and internal cardiac medical devices, combining wearable technology with proven therapies to improve patient comfort and health outcomes. The ASSURE Patient Specialist (APS) works closely with the sales team and Regional Clinical Advisors to perform patient fitting and training for our wearable defibrillator system. This paid per‑fitting contractor role requires travel to hospitals, patient homes, and other healthcare facilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Fit and train patients on the ASSURE® wearable defibrillator, including sizing garment and demonstrating proper use. Provide clear instruction and build confidence in patients during fittings. Schedule fittings and coordinate with prescribers, caregivers, and patients. Operate flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and daytime as required. Prepare and transmit necessary paperwork to obtain ASSURE® garments and services. Manage inventory of system kits, garments, and electronic equipment. Adhere to the company’s Pledge of Confidentiality regarding patient information.

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum 1 year of paid patient‑care experience (excluding family caregiving). Clinical or engineering background such as nursing, cardiac device sales, clinical engineering, catheterization laboratory, physician assistant, or ECG technician. Disclosure of personal NPI number if applicable. Completion of background check (level 2 screening required in Florida and Ohio, paid by Kestra). Ability to pay an annual DME fee deducted from the work order. Ability to pay for vendor credentialing upfront during a 90‑day probationary period. Experience in patient and/or clinician education. Valid driver’s license in the state of residence with a clean driving record. Ability to work consistently in the field, primarily around Elmhurst, IL. Credentialing for hospital system entry, including but not limited to: Documentation of vaccination and immunization status Pass background check Pass drug screening Agree to hospital policies and procedures Complete online courses (HIPAA, Bloodborne Pathogens, Electrical/Fire Safety)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Proficiency with MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams. Direct cardiac patient care experience (RN, RT, CVIS, Paramedic, CRM).

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Standard office or hospital noise levels. Exposure to infectious disease in clinical settings. Extended hours as required. Drug‑free workplace.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Drive to client locations. Frequent repetitive hand and wrist motions. Prolonged standing or sitting. Use of phone and other business equipment. Occasional bending and stooping. Lift up to 40 pounds unassisted, including from vehicle.

TRAVEL

Frequent car travel within the designated geographic area.
