Our values ask for a deeper level of commitment, and what is asked of us we freely give because we believe in our mission.Required Qualifications:Registered ARDMS or CCI Echocardiography registryBLS CertificationACLS Certification (required within 6 months of transfer/hire)Duties and Responsibilities:Echocardiography:The Sonographer will obtain complete and reproducible diagnostically accurate cardiac ultrasound examsThey will have a thorough knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and physiologyThey will understand the essentials of ultrasound physics and be able to differentiate artifacts from real dataStress Testing:The Sonographer will obtain complete and reproducible diagnostically accurate cardiac stress examsThey will have a thorough knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and physiologyThey will understand the essentials of EKG interpretation and be able to differentiate artifacts from real dataThey will able to identify and troubleshoot suboptimal EKG tracingsThey will be able to identify potentially life threatening arrhythmias and implement appropriate interventionsThey will coordinate the stress test with other team membersThe Sonographer will provide pre and post procedural teaching and instructionsEKG/Holter Monitoring:The Sonographer will obtain complete and reproducible diagnostically accurate EKGS and holter testsThey will have a thorough knowledge of EKG rhythm interpretationThey will be able to recognize and troubleshoot common artifactsThey will be able to recognize hemodynamically significant arrhythmias (critical values)Documentation:The Sonographer is responsible for completing all required charting and billing documentation in a timely basisQuality Improvement:The Sonographer will assist with the identification, resolution, and tracking of quality improvement initiativesPatient Teaching:The Sonographer is responsible for providing patient and family education in an understandable and compassionate mannerInfection Control:The Sonographer is responsible for following all required infection control practices and guidelines and maintaining the safety and cleanliness of the patient care area and equipmentStaff/Client Relationships:The Sonographer will include the patient and family whenever possibleThe Sonographer will contribute to the growth of the department in a solution oriented constructive problem solving approachThe Sonographer will advocate and protect patient rightsThe Sonographer will respect and adapt for cultural diversityThe therapist will interact professionally with coworkers and promote interdepartmental teamworkEach employee is responsible for implementing SJRMC's Service Standards into their daily work: Safety, Courtesy, Effectiveness, and StewardshipOther duties as assignedPhysical Demands and Environmental Work Conditions:Recognize that potential exposure to blood borne pathogens and/or hazardous materials, noxious/irritating fumes, long hours, and unforeseen conditions that might generate stress may be encounteredRecognize that physical demands such as extensive walking, standing, lifting, positioning, pushing, and or transferring of patients may be requiredCorrectible visual and auditory acuity is required to ensure patient safety
