Travel Labor & Delivery RN Requirements At least 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience High-risk Labor & Delivery experience in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment Active Washington Registered Nurse license or compact license in hand Current BLS certification Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification Epic experience, including electronic fetal monitoring documentation Demonstrated ability to function as the delivery newborn nurse, providing care from delivery through transfer to postpartum Demonstrated ability to circulate for Cesarean sections Preferred: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and/or AWHONN Intermediate certification Ability to work weekends and holidays as scheduled Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care for high-risk antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients Assist with vaginal deliveries, Cesarean sections, high-risk deliveries, and operative procedures Serve as the delivery newborn nurse, including newborn assessment, Apgar scoring, thermoregulation, identification and security banding, cord care, and administration of newborn eye care and vitamin K injections Circulate for Cesarean sections and support safe surgical workflows Monitor and interpret fetal heart rate patterns using external fetal monitoring and electronic documentation systems Administer and monitor therapies including magnesium sulfate, insulin infusions, heparin, Pitocin, antihypertensives, and other medications according to orders and policy Recognize and respond to obstetric emergencies, including hemorrhage, shock, pregnancy-induced hypertension, and abnormal fetal heart rate patterns Provide patient education, breastfeeding support, pain assessment and management, and emotional support Collaborate with physicians, midwives, respiratory services, pharmacy, social services, and other members of the healthcare team Float to other appropriate units when needed and perform only duties consistent with demonstrated competency Apply now for this Labor & Delivery travel nurse opportunity in Seattle, Washington, and take the next step in your nursing career.
