Job Title: Sales Assistant II / Sales Service Representative
Reports To: Centralized Sales Manager or Service Center Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Overview:
The Sales Service Representative is responsible for delivering high-quality, business-to-business customer service throughout the order process for pipe, valves, and fitting (PVF) products. This role includes creating and entering quotes, processing orders, resolving customer issues, and supporting the implementation of MRC Global strategies for safety, gross margin growth, and operational performance.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Respond to customer requests for quotes by sourcing products from company inventory or external vendors; build quotes to create value for the customer and profitability for MRC Global.
• Identify and pursue sales opportunities to support overall sales growth.
• Engage with customers proactively, utilize product knowledge to make recommendations and offer add-on solutions that enhance customer satisfaction and drive sales.
• Utilize MRC Global systems/software to create quotes, locate available products, process customer orders, create vendor purchase orders, and complete tasks related to customer needs.
• Adhere to customer contract requirements, including pricing, freight, delivery schedules, and KPIs.
• Verify shipping/delivery status for inbound and outbound shipments and communicate proactively with customers, adjusting sourcing as needed.
• Respond to customer needs with problem-solving options and proactive communication.
• Validate that products specified in customer quote requests meet approved manufacturer lists and customer specifications.
• Reference processing guides and other resources to maintain familiarity with customer preferences; consult managers, other departments, and suppliers as needed.
• Support next-level customer needs, including orders requiring externally sourced labor, return material authorizations (RMA), purchase order changes, and specialized invoicing.
• Communicate professionally with customers, suppliers, and coworkers to execute all order process steps.

Required Experience:

• One (1) or more years of experience in a customer service or sales-related role, preferably in a business-to-business or industrial environment.
