Construction Program Manager

Job Title

Primary Responsibilities

• Vendor Management: Lead and coordinate general contractors, architects, engineers, and IT infrastructure vendors.
• Project Oversight: Own the end-to-end timeline, track budgets, manage milestones, and assess technical risks.
• Internal Alignment: Coordinate with legal, procurement, and finance for contract negotiations and stakeholder approvals.
• Compliance: Manage San Francisco/California building permits, inspections, and safety laws.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Experience: 5 to 8 years of mid-level experience; not seeking junior or 15+ year professionals.
• Background: Proven track record in commercial tech company relocations (e.g., FAANG) and a local Bay Area vendor network.
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of construction engineering to translate architectural designs into physical builds and manage MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) coordination.
• Soft Skills: Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and proactively determine next steps without a set playbook.
• Education: Bachelor's in civil/structural engineering preferred, but Associate's degrees with significant hands-on experience are welcome.

Logistics

• Location: Primarily remote, but must be on-site in San Francisco at least one day per week once construction starts in May.
• Contract: Initial 6-month term used to qualify fit, with a strong intent to extend through the project's completion.
