Coordinator/Case Manager of the Gang Prevention Coordination Assistance program Overview The Project Coordinator/Case Manager is the key position, responsible for the day‑to‑day management of the program. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills are required. The role requires the ability to work effectively with diverse populations, interface with key community leaders and agency directors, and foster strong relationships with young people. A background in social science, criminal justice, social work, or a related field is essential. Responsibilities Ensure that clear lines of communication and direction are defined with agencies and organizations providing staff or volunteers. Help define and implement coordinated use of resources to prevent gang activity. Coordinate meetings and provide staff support to the Urban Youth Coalition committee and the Juvenile Justice Review Board. Collect, organize, and maintain program data. Prepare progress reports for the Urban Youth Coalition and the Department of Justice. Assist the Urban Youth Coalition in providing education on the model to community and civic groups, businesses, schools, and others. Assist the Urban Youth Coalition in recruiting volunteers, maintain a roster of volunteers, and schedule activities of home‑visit teams. Coordinate training for team members and volunteer outreach workers. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Associate’s degree in a social science, criminal justice, social work, or a related field, or three years of related experience. Demonstrated excellent organization and communication skills. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines efficiently. Case‑management ability. Computer competency in Word and Excel.
