Must-Have: BLS certification and certification as a surgical technologist. Experience in trauma, orthopedic, and general surgical procedures.

Description: The unit includes multiple operating suites for various surgical specialties. On average, the unit handles 14 cases per day. Staffing ratios are 1:1 for surgical techs. Call is required, with specific weekend and weekday schedules. Responding to call must be within a 30-minute timeframe. Surgeons are not in-house 24/7. Anesthesia support is available as needed. RT and pharmacy services are available 24/7. The position involves 8-hour shifts with specific start and end times. No floating to other units is required for surgical techs. Common surgeries include orthopedic, gynecological, urological, trauma, ENT, general, vascular, and robotics. Scrubbing in procedures is required. Experience with high-level disinfection and sterilization processes is beneficial. Certification in sterile processing tech is required for those interested in that role. The cancellation policy allows for up to four shifts to be canceled during the assignment. The charting system used is Cerner. No experience as a registered nurse is required. This role is in an acute care setting. Shifts include weekends and on-call requirements.
