CNC Machinist

We’re hiring CNC Machinists for our precision aerospace and defense manufacturing facility in Jamestown, NY . You’ll manufacture high-precision components supporting demanding aerospace and defense programs using CNC lathes and mills . We have opportunities for machinists with backgrounds in both turning and milling, with several of our current openings supporting CNC lathe operations . We’re looking for machinists with a strong CNC foundation who want to continue developing their skills in a precision manufacturing environment. Experience with setups, tooling, offsets, and programming is highly valued, but we have the ability to train and develop the right people based on their existing machining experience. What makes this role different: Significant overtime: Approximately 45-50 hours per week on the current 2nd-shift schedule. Long-term stability: Support established aerospace and defense programs with growing production demand. Precision machining: Work on close-tolerance components for demanding applications. Skill development: Continue building your setup, tooling, troubleshooting, and overall machining capabilities. Variety of equipment: Opportunities across CNC turning and milling. Growing operation: Continued contract growth is driving additional investment in production capacity. Compensation $23-$26/hr based on experience and machining capabilities +$2/hr 2nd-shift differential Overtime paid after 40 hours Additional compensation may be considered for highly experienced machinists Relocation assistance may be available for highly qualified candidates Shift 2nd Shift Monday - Friday 10-hour shifts Responsibilities CNC Machining: Operate CNC lathes and/or mills to manufacture precision aerospace and defense components. Machine Setups: Perform setups and changeovers based on job requirements and experience level. Tooling: Select, load, change, and monitor cutting tools throughout the machining process. Machine Adjustments: Make offsets and process adjustments to maintain part quality and dimensional requirements. Quality Inspection: Perform first-piece and in-process inspections to verify components meet specifications. Precision Measurement: Inspect parts using precision measuring equipment. Blueprint Reading: Read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and manufacturing instructions. Troubleshooting: Identify machining, tooling, and quality issues and make appropriate adjustments. Production: Maintain quality and productivity while supporting aerospace and defense production schedules.
