As a teacher in the district, you will provide rigorous instruction to a diverse student population, align instruction with district and state standards, assess learning, and adapt instruction to meet the needs of all students, including English learners and students with disabilities. Performance Responsibilities Plan a program of study to meet students' academic, social, and emotional developmental needs. Promote high standards and expectations for student achievement. Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students. Promote and appreciate diversity to ensure equitable opportunities for student learning, including implementing strategies for students with special needs, 504 plans, and second language learners. Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals; establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate objectives to students. Utilize innovative approaches and instructional strategies, including effective use of technologies to increase student learning and confidence. Provide counseling to colleagues, students, and/or parents on a regular basis. Assess student accomplishments regularly and provide progress reports as required. Assist the administration in implementing policies governing student life and conduct, and develop reasonable classroom rules to maintain order. Plan and supervise purposeful assignments for teacher aides and/or volunteers. Attend staff meetings and serve on staff and school committees; maintain professional competence through participation in professional growth activities. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution. DESE Certification in the content area. SEI Endorsement. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated experience with elementary learning principles. Citizenship, residency, or work visa required. Completed Cori and fingerprint clearance. Job Requirements At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred. Master's degree preferred. Citizenship, residency, or work visa required. Reports to Principal/Administrator Position Details Length of Position: 184 days, school year (Unit A Contract) Location: Mashpee Middle High School Salary: Commensurate with experience (approx. $61,172 to $113,750 per year).
