Senior SATCOM Training Architect

Senior Training Developer – Leidos Leidos is looking to hire a Senior Training Developer in the Intel Sector’s Cyber & Analytics Business Area (CABA). The role supports high‑impact work for the United States Space Force, United States Air Force, and other mission stakeholders by enhancing, testing, and deploying a large‑scale Satellite Communications (SATCOM) system. Location Primary location: Columbia, Maryland. Alternative duty locations include San Diego, California; Englewood, Colorado; or Huntsville, Alabama. Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates. Job Summary The Senior Training Developer will design, develop, and deliver blended‑learning solutions (classroom, CBT/WBT, and other instructional technologies) to prepare adult learners to operate complex software and server systems in mission‑critical environments. The role requires deep expertise in public key infrastructure (PKI) and key management, and experience working in fast‑paced, Agile Development settings. Primary Responsibilities Plan, design, and implement blended‑learning solutions (classroom, CBT/WBT, and other instructional technologies). Design, develop, and deliver certifiable training programs for adult learners on complex, multi‑node software/server systems. Collaborate with instructors, ISDs/training developers, technical writers, web managers, and other team members to produce and maintain high‑quality training products. Instruct and support adult learners while managing classroom workstations and maintaining a ready, operational training environment. Partner with subject‑matter experts to define instructional requirements, analyze system functionality and components, adapt engineering documentation, and implement effective training solutions. Develop, update, and maintain instructional content, including Written Courses of Instruction (WCI), Lesson Plans, CBT modules, and human‑machine interface training materials. Evaluate and refine instructional programs, course content, and methodologies; analyze learning objectives against program requirements and support data collection for multi‑level evaluation and assessment. Create job aids and other performance support tools for end users, subject matter experts, and instructors who may be new to the targeted technology. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Systems Design, Instructional Technology, Adult Learning, Curriculum Design, or a related field; or equivalent experience. At least 12 years of training‑related experience; 7 years in platform delivery design and development for technology systems; 3 years of recent in‑classroom training within the last 10 years. Extensive experience developing, using, and maintaining CBT/WBT, web‑based content, and course materials. Experience working directly with technical staff (system engineers, software developers, system administrators). Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Excellent writing, editing, interpersonal, and collaboration skills. Self‑motivated, proactive, and detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with or in military SATCOM organizations. Experience with PKI/key management programs and technologies. Master’s degree in Instructional Systems Design, Instructional Technology, Adult Learning, Curriculum Design, Human Systems Engineering, or related discipline. Experience developing job aids for new users or instructors. Extensive technical publication experience (requirements specifications, user manuals, training manuals). Experience using Photoshop, HTML, JavaScript. System administration experience (workstations, networks). Familiarity with complex network systems (firewalls, load balancers, NIDS, NAT, PAT, VPC, ACLs, Cisco Nexus, Cisco Catalyst). Proficiency with Windows Server (2008/2012/2016, including Server Core) and Linux system administration. Clearance Required Must have TS/SCI with Polygraph.
