Radiology Specialist Assistant - Interventional Radiology

This is a full-time position with an 8-hour shift from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, 5 days a week.

Job Description

The Radiology Specialist Assistant provides patient care services under the supervision of a physician, delivering age-appropriate care across the lifespan. This role emphasizes clinical expertise, patient assessment, and collaboration with the healthcare team to support the continuum of care.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical services to patients within the scope of practice and assigned privileges.
• Perform patient assessments using age-specific growth and development principles.
• Deliver safe, high-quality, and compassionate care.
• Assist supervising physician with radiologic procedures and patient management.
• Maintain patient flow and organize clinical workload effectively.
• Respond appropriately to emergency situations.
• Ensure compliance with Medical Staff Bylaws, hospital policies, and regulatory standards.
• Perform fluoroscopic procedures, including barium studies, joint injections, paracentesis, and thoracentesis.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to prepare procedure rooms and manage equipment.
• Document procedures accurately and educate patients on procedures and post-procedure instructions.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field; certification as a Radiologist Assistant (RA) or Physician Assistant (PA) with a radiology focus preferred.
• Current ARRT certification in Radiography; additional certifications in CT, Ultrasound, or Interventional Radiology are highly desirable.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
