Position Summary Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the Printer Operator operates offset printing machines to produce work‑in‑progress goods or finished goods according to customer/stock specifications. Performs quality checks and packages finished goods according to the production order/customer specification. Key Responsibilities Performs all tasks necessary to operate equipment according to procedure. Implements customer required quality requirements by performing specified quality checks/inspections per customer specification. Packages and labels work‑in‑progress products according to the Control Plan. When an order ends, performs a line clearance. Complete cleaning/color changes. Set up new job orders in accordance with specifications given (on equipment). Actively communicates with coworkers – key items within the plant environment on safety, quality, maintenance, production and continuous improvement. Follows work instructions as needed and may be asked to write, revise and train others to those instructions. Performs root‑cause analysis when problems arise to determine if actions can be taken immediately or appropriate personnel need to be called. Maintains 5S environment in work area. Sweeps any debris from work area in the production area and machinery. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds. Adheres to plant and corporate safety policies. Assist in other areas or perform other duties as required by fluctuating business needs. Required Skills/Abilities Possesses well‑developed communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast‑paced, multi‑task environment. Printing experience preferred but not required. Maintains positive team environment. Ability to read, write and follow written or verbal instructions. Ability to speak, read and write English. Possesses basic math skills. Understands basic machine operation (mechanical aptitude).
