Capital Paving & Construction (CPC) is a heavy highway and civil construction company located in Jefferson City, MO. We are hiring a Project Engineer for our Missouri projects. This full‑time, benefits‑eligible position offers a unique opportunity to learn across a range of construction responsibilities under the guidance of experienced CPC professionals. Job Details Location: Capital Paving MO – Jefferson City, MO 65109 Position Type: Full Time Key Responsibilities Partner with Safety Director and Superintendent to exceed company and client safety expectations on site. Prepare and submit construction submittals for project conformance. Review, understand, and communicate plans/drawings to ensure project compliance with policies, regulations, laws, and permits. Coordinate work methods with Superintendent and Foreman to align operations with company procedures and best management practices. Adjust and troubleshoot work methods to maintain project quality and schedule. Build, maintain, and communicate project schedule through collaboration with Field Superintendents, Foreman, and peers. Organize and oversee construction processes to ensure completion on time and on budget. Have thorough understanding of contracts, subcontracts, plans, and specifications. Correspond daily or as needed with onsite company personnel and customers. Coordinate/schedule subs and material or coordinate with foreman/superintendent to schedule as directed by the Project Manager. Qualifications, Skills, and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Entry level to 5 years’ experience. Demonstrates enthusiasm for seeing projects take shape, strong construction knowledge, and meticulous attention to detail. Exceptional organizational, written, and verbal communication skills. Extensive experience in Microsoft Office preferred. Experience with Critical Path Scheduling software preferred (Primavera, Microsoft Project, etc.). Ability to interpret plans, specifications, and contracts. Willingness and ability to travel. Valid driver’s license required. Must pass pre‑employment screenings: physical, drug, and background. Physical & Work Environment Requirements Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions. Ability to navigate active construction sites safely.
