Automotive Technician

Description Automotive Technician responsible for troubleshooting, tune up, repair, maintenance, and overhaul of automotive and various types of powered industrial equipment. What You Will Be Doing Diagnosing problems, determining methods of repair and/or replacement required. Responsibilities Troubleshooting, repairing, and overhauling automotive equipment and various types of powered vehicles Performing typical automotive work operations such as diagnosing, repairing, and replacing running gear components, including engines, transmissions, and differentials Completing overhaul of various types of equipment, including gas, diesel, propane, electric, and hybrid powered Diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining air conditioning systems, fuel‑injection systems, carburetor systems, exhaust systems, and other automotive systems Using hand tools, precision measuring instruments, electronic diagnostic equipment, and automotive equipment, tools, and gauges What’s In It For You Employment on site full‑time with flexible scheduling options. The schedule is 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week. Who You Are The ideal candidate has highly skilled knowledge of automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems. Excellent problem‑solving skills, competence with hand tools and precision instruments, and ability to read and interpret manufacturer specifications and diagrams. Basic Qualifications Five years of full‑time experience within the last eight years in auto/truck/equipment repair, including gasoline and diesel engines across all types of transportation apparatuses. At least two full years in general automotive repair and service, including minor and major repairs, diagnostics, drivetrain repair/replacement, brake system diagnosis, cooling system, suspension and steering, and HVAC. At least two full years in heavy‑duty truck and/or equipment repair, including maintenance, drivetrain, hydraulic, electrical, and cooling systems for road tractors, all‑terrain moving equipment, forklifts, dump trucks, and street sweepers. Documentation of training or on‑the‑job experience in at least six of the following areas: air braking systems, gasoline engine overhaul, diesel engine overhaul, emission systems, HVAC, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, fuel injection, transmission overhaul, steering and suspension, manual drivetrain and axles, engine performance, hydraulic brakes, and cooling systems. Desired Skills Certificate in automotive technology/maintenance. Other Important Information Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen. Clearance Level: None.
