Registered Nurse (RN) - Psychiatric

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Adult Psychiatry for a night shift position. The role is located within a psychiatric inpatient unit that provides comprehensive treatment services to adults aged 18 and over. The facility has 10 beds and serves patients from multiple regions.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to psychiatric patients, including assessments, interventions, and evaluations of care.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Perform blood draws and phlebotomy as necessary.
• Monitor and document patient progress and changes in condition.
• Engage with patients to provide support and education regarding their treatment plans.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a therapeutic environment.
• Participate in required training and maintain certifications.

Schedule

This position offers 8-hour night shifts, with a standard commitment of 40 hours per week, though 36 hours may be considered for the right candidate. There are weekend and holiday coverage requirements, including every other weekend and holidays as needed. Specific holiday work is mandated during peak times, including Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of current psychiatric experience.
• Current phlebotomy experience is required.
• ACLS and CPI certifications are strongly preferred.
• Previous travel nursing experience is preferred.
• Experience in a small critical access facility is advantageous.
• A valid Vermont RN license is required.
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification is mandatory.

• One supervisory signed reference from the last two years of employment.
