Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Nights)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit with a 5:1 patient ratio
• Monitor, read, and measure telemetry strips for assigned patients
• Care for telemetry, post-operative surgical, orthopedic, and general surgery patient populations
• Administer and manage IV drips including Insulin, Cardizem, Heparin, and Amiodarone
• Accurately document patient care and clinical findings using EPIC EMR
• Participate in holiday coverage as required by unit scheduling needs

Required Qualifications

• Active Iowa RN license or active Compact / Multistate RN license at time of submission
• Minimum 24 months of current Med Surg and/or Med Surg-Telemetry experience in a hospital or medical center setting
• Experience with orthopedic and/or general surgery patient care
• Demonstrated drip experience with Insulin, Cardizem, Heparin, and Amiodarone
• Active AHA or ARC BLS certification
• Active AHA or ARC ACLS certification

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Telemetry strip reading and measurement experience
• EPIC EMR charting experience
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months
