When you work in our warehouses, you’ll play a vital part in helping people sleep well so they live well every day.Job Details:The Distribution Center Lead contributes to Mattress Firm's success by leading a team of warehouse associates to complete daily department tasks. These include receiving incoming product, picking and filling orders, packing and shipping orders, and ensuring proper storage of inventory. This individual communicates with customers to ensure world class service is provided and always operates according to safety policies and procedures.Essential ResponsibilitiesLead and communicate to a team of warehouse associates to complete daily department tasks and company goals effectively and efficiently.Load and unload merchandise from delivery trucks and vendor shipments.Stage deliveries.Maintain supply, part, and equipment inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed parts, placing and receiving orders.Participate in inbound and outbound quality assurance processes.Ensure accuracy of vendor shipments.Maintain inventory control and perform physical inventory counts.Professionally communicate purchase order discrepancies to vendors.Assist with customer pickups, providing exceptional customer service.Maintain grounds by picking up paper and trash and cleaning parking lot and entrance to building.Maintain stock and merchandise area, keeping it organized and clean.Ensure cleanliness of offices, bathrooms, warehouse floor, truck docks, and aisles through mopping, sweeping, and washing.Remove trash daily by emptying trash containers, transporting materials to disposal area, and recycling materials.Clean and sanitize product per Company standard operating procedure.Inspect products for defects and damages when receiving or shipping.Monitor shipments and deliveries and prepare, process, and organize paperwork relating to shipping and receiving orders.Utilize reports to maintain knowledge of warehouse project status.Audit and maintain delivery tracking system.Operate and maintain order pickers and warehouse equipment.May operate other specialized equipment to move and distribute freight.Complete all required training modules and certifications prior to the due date.Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed to ensure a safe work environment for all.Communicate professionally with all internal and external contacts.Follow all Company policies and execute Company standards on appearance and functionality as well as appropriate brand representation.Communicate any concerns or issues to leadership to ensure proper efficiency of department and company operations.Non-Essential ResponsibilitiesExecute company initiatives and other activities requested by supervisor.Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.Contribute ideas on ways to optimize or improve the team, the department, and the Company.EducationHigh School diploma or equivalent preferredProfessional Experience1+ Years warehouse experience required AndSkills ListStrong communication skills.Able to be thorough and accurate when accomplishing a task.Ability to manage time efficiently to ensure completion of work.CompetenciesKnowledgeGeneral warehouse policies and procedures.Equipment and function of Powered Industrial Trucks for product relocation and safety inspection.Microsoft Office Products including Microsoft Dynamics (preferred)DispatchTrack (preferred)Licenses and CertificationsPhysical DemandsWarehouse EnvironmentSitting frequentlyStanding frequentlyWalking frequentlyTalking frequentlyHearing frequentlyLift or move up to 100 poundsUsage of hands and fingersReaching with hands and armsStooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling occasionallySight is required to ensure the safety of yourself and others.Benefits Included:Excellent career growth opportunities through on-the-job training and development programs401(k) with employer matchingMental health and life resourcesMedical, dental, prescription, and vision plansGet paid on-demandBase pay or uncapped commissionEmployee discounts on Mattress Firm sleep products and accessoriesCompensation:Competitive pay range of $19-$20.50 hourly.*Actual pay is based on documented and verified relevant work experience and does not guarantee employment for any specific period.
