• Ability to work with various staff members (RNs, LPNs, Techs)

Description:

Holiday coverage is required; any requested time off during holidays must remain flexible to accommodate staffing demands. The Observational Unit has a 10-bed capacity. Patient ratios are 1:6 during night shifts and may adjust based on patient volume. The focus of the unit is on the constant reassessment of patients' readiness for discharge. This unit will frequently admit and discharge patients. Nurses will work every other weekend. The staffing ratio on medical surgical units is typically 1:5-6 at night. In situations where the ratio may increase to 8 patients, RNs will be paired with LPNs for additional support. Travel experience is highly preferred, though candidates with permanent experience may be considered. Candidates should possess skills including but not limited to accessing/managing ports, blood product administration, and wound care. Nurses are expected to provide care for a variety of medical patients, including those with chronic conditions. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams such as physical therapy and social services is essential. Candidates must demonstrate excellent prioritization skills and be adaptable to fluctuating patient demands. This role requires strong customer service skills to enhance patient experience while balancing patient throughput.
