Insight Global is seeking an Automation Technician to support a manufacturing/automation environment. This individual will play a key role in keeping automated equipment running efficiently by troubleshooting and maintaining mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control systems.
This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced production environment, requiring flexibility, problem-solving, and strong technical troubleshooting skills.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot automated equipment to resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and controls issues
- Perform preventative maintenance to ensure machine uptime and reliability
- Document repairs, maintenance activities, and system updates
- Collaborate with other shifts and teams to maintain operational continuity
- Support quality investigations and implement corrective actions
- Assist with secondary equipment and new program launches
- Implement error-proofing solutions and continuous improvements
- Train operators on proper equipment use and troubleshooting
- Respond to unexpected equipment issues and support occasional weekend work
Shift: 2 Shifts Available
- 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 1st Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
- Flexibility required for occasional weekend work
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, automation, or related field
- Ability to read mechanical and electrical prints/schematics
- Strong troubleshooting experience with industrial equipment
- Experience working in manufacturing, automotive, or automation environments
- Ability to lift 20–50 lbs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with robotics (FANUC preferred)
- Knowledge of HMI software (FactoryTalk or Ignition)
- Experience with PLC programming & troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley)
