Medical AssistantMidwest Immunology & Minnesota Center for Multiple Sclerosis, a Vivo Infusion Company is excited to invite a motivated Medical Assistant to join our growing team in Plymouth & Woodbury, MN!We are looking for a Medical Assistant with prior administrative experience, strong initiative, and the ability to work independently. The Medical Assistant will be based at the clinic closest to their location and mileage will be reimbursed for travel to the secondary clinic.The individual in this role will support our operations by working with patients providers, nurses, and patients by conducting administrative and patient care activities to keep the facility running smoothly. The Medical Assistant is responsible for initial patient greeting and general assisting of medical support in the center. Please note this position will not support our Infusion Suite.Compensation:Pay Range: $23.00 - $27.00/HourBonus Plan Target: 5% Annually (Based on performance)Private Equity for the Greater Good - Company-wide Employee Ownership ProgramBenefits:Medical, Dental, Vision HSA w/ Employer ContributionTouchcare - Insurance Concierge Service401K with Match up to 4%PTO: Accrual 3+ weeks PTO Rollover and PTO Donation Program.Wellness Reimbursement Program - $360 AnnuallyEmployee Referral Bonus - Uncapped Bonus PotentialTuition Assistance Program & Professional Association ReimbursementEmployee Assistance Program (Employer-provided)Short & long-term disability (Employer-provided)Life Insurance (Employer-provided)Employment Type, Schedule, FLSA Status:Full-timePosition Schedule: Monday - Friday | 7:45 am - 4:15 pmFloat coverage between sites required based on staffing needs.Non-ExemptReports to: Clinical Operations ManagerLocation:15655 37th Ave N, STE 260 Plymouth, MN 55446652 Bielenberg DR, STE 101, Woodbury, MN 55125Primary Responsibilities:Performs a variety of patient care activities rendering quality patients in accordance with standards of practice.Room clinic patients in person or virtually and update patient chart with the required informationCommunicate pertinent patient data to providers and nurses to ensure quality and continuity of patient careOversees and ensures efficient turnover of exam roomsAssist provider in the exam room as requestedCollect, prepare, and submit ordered patient lab specimens as directed.Administer injections and vaccinesObtain prior authorizations for prescribed treatment's and documentTriage patient phone calls and messages and document them appropriatelyOrders and manages supplies under the direction of managerClean and stock the exam rooms, with the approved facility disinfectant.Assist in obtaining records required for the patient's chartSupport front desk staff as neededDemonstrate effective communication skills, reporting patient issues as needed throughout the treatment day.Follow company policies and CDC guidelines for infection control.Secondary Responsibilities:Immediately report any unsafe condition to the Clinic ManagerAssist with proper handling and storage of hazardous materials.Perform all duties in a professional and courteous manner.Ability to work efficiently and effectively under tight deadlines and high work volume.Participate in emergency evacuation procedures in the event of fire or disasterMaintain confidentiality of all company and patient records. Adhere to HIPPA.Comply with all Company established policies and procedures at all times.Participate in all required meetings including staff, CQI, and educational meetings.Request assistance or advice from supervisor as needed.Performs other duties as requested.Qualifications:Education and ExperienceHigh school graduate or equivalent, required.Medical Assistant Certification, required.CPR/BLS, required prior to start date.6 months clinical experience, required.Phlebotomy and lab processing skills, preferred.SkillsSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently as needed.Must possess outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with ability to communicate professionally and effectively with other staff members, patients and physicians.Must possess computer skills for electronic recordkeeping.Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
