Travel Nursing Job Details Location: Abilene, Texas Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,350-$2,470 Start Date: November 2, 2026 Assignment Length: 13 weeks, ending February 1, 2027 Healthcare Setting: Hospital Operating Room Shift Duration: 10-hour night shifts Schedule: Primarily Friday-Sunday weekend coverage; 36 or 40 hours per week available Shift Details: Night schedule with no call; exact schedule confirmed during the placement process Orientation: Approximately 40 hours Patient Assignment: One patient per nurse Operating Room RN Job Requirements Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand at the time of submission At least 2 years of recent Operating Room nursing experience Required experience with craniotomy and burr hole procedures Experience in neuro/spine, orthopedic trauma, general, robotic, or trauma surgery Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification CNOR, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC certifications strongly preferred or may be required based on assignment needs Travel nursing experience preferred Experience with Altera or Allscripts charting systems preferred, but not required Ability to complete required compliance documentation and laboratory items within the requested timeframe Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities Provide safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care throughout the surgical experience Support neuro/spine, orthopedic trauma, general, robotic, and trauma procedures Care for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations Demonstrate strong clinical proficiency with craniotomy and burr hole procedures Assist with a broad range of procedures, including spinal fusions, laminectomies, joint replacements, amputations, fracture repairs, laparoscopic procedures, mastectomies, and general surgery cases Promote patient safety, infection prevention, surgical site protocols, and accurate clinical documentation Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, surgical technologists, and interdisciplinary support teams Adapt effectively to a fast-paced operating room environment while maintaining attention to detail Apply now for this Texas travel nursing opportunity and join a high-performing Operating Room team in Abilene!
