You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will perform as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. You will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. The Medical Support Specialist works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) and the Center Physician for medical issues. The Specialist will be familiar with plasma collection regulations and will follow guidance from BioLife Medical Affairs for center‑level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS). How you will contribute You will determine donor eligibility: proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE). You will evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including developing the Center Physician’s standing orders and coordinating donor transport to emergency care. You will refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility. You will support the hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees. You will manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation by occupational health or ER. EHS guidance will be followed regarding incidents. You may act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats within the local community. What you bring to Takeda High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements. Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities are assigned: EMT‑Paramedic. Current CPR and AED certification. Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy in the state of licensure. Complete FDA‑approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two years in a clinical or hospital setting. For Location USA – LA – Bossier City U.S. Hourly Wage Range $23.04 – $31.68 The estimated hourly wage range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual wage offered may depend on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location of the applicant.
