BUILDING PORTER

Job Responsibilities & Employee Acknowledgment

Position: Building Porter
Reports To: Cleaning Supervisor / Property Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

The Building Porter is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and overall condition of assigned residential properties in accordance with company standards and the assigned work schedule.

GENERAL BUILDING CLEANING

• Clean common areas, including hallways, staircases, entrances, doors, and windows.
• Sweep and mop floors and staircases as needed.
• Keep lobby and entrance areas clean and presentable.
• Check and clean elevators, including floors, doors, and mirrors.

GARBAGE AND RECYCLING

• Remove and properly separate garbage and recycling according to the building schedule.
• Keep garbage/refuse rooms, containers, and surrounding areas clean and organized.
• Report large items or tenant belongings to management before removing them.

EXTERIOR AND BUILDING AREAS

• Keep sidewalks, building perimeters, entrances, and garbage areas free of litter and debris.
• Keep mechanical, utility, laundry, and supply rooms clean and organized.
• Check the roof where authorized.
• Keep accessible drains clear of small debris and report any blockages.

COMMUNICATION AND REPORTING

• Report maintenance issues, damage, leaks, blocked areas, and safety concerns promptly.
• Take clear photos of completed work and submit required reports through company channels.
• Contact management before the scheduled work time ends if additional time is needed to complete assigned duties.

ATTENDANCE AND WORK STANDARDS

• Wear the company uniform while working at assigned properties.
• Remain at the assigned property during scheduled work hours, except for authorized breaks or approved departures.
• Use scheduled work time productively.
• Follow company cleaning standards, safety procedures, and management instructions.
• Perform other related duties as assigned that are consistent with the position.
