Events Assistant
II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES(includes the following. Other duties may be assigned)
Provide comprehensive support for The Arc Otsego's annual events, including fundraisers, social events, and employee engagement events. This includes assistance with all stages of event planning, promotion, implementation, and wrap up
Assist in the coordination, data support, and execution of monthly food drives
Lead and engage event volunteers effectively
Assist with job fair tabling and other outreach events
Act as a writer for the Agency, acting as creative content writer and editor for printed materials, internal communication and electronic material for public consumption.
Develops, monitors, edits and/or coordinates content for events for Agency websites, intranet, social media, and collateral materials.
Coordinate event logistics, including setup, organization, and breakdown with strong organizational skills and multitasking abilities
Promote the positive image of the Agency to employees. Assist management with internal and external communication needs around events
Maintain and build positive relationships with event sponsors
Work collaboratively with all agency leadership, including Board of Directors and Director and Executive Team Members.
Display a genuine commitment to supporting individuals with disabilities and focus on inclusion and equity for all.
This position requires a two week notice of voluntary resignation.
III. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.
IV. QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEbachelor's degree in business, communications, marketing or in a related field preferred; two years of experience in event planning; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
REASONING SKILLSTo perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate the following competencies: Sound decision making and judgment, interpersonal skills, planning/organizing, strategic thinking, time management and delegating. The ability to work independently in multiple settings. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write reports/correspondence and good communication and writing skills.
COMPUTER SKILLSMust be knowledgeable about cloud-based software, Microsoft Office components including Word, Office, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with Canva, data management, and photography preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSMust possess a valid NYS driver's license and an acceptable driving record. Successful completion of all required agency training.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS REQUIREDVery high degree of interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public, including tact to handle sensitive matters. Must be able to deal with personnel matters in a confidential, objective, professional manner.

fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is typical to that of an office
setting, with the expectation of time spent on the manufacturing floor.
