Experienced Driller Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced driller to join our team supporting transmission line, substation, and substation foundation projects across the Midwest and beyond. This is a travel-based opportunity for skilled drillers with experience in utility construction, drilled piers, foundations, heavy civil, or related field work.
Job Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain drilling equipment used for transmission and substation foundation projects
- Perform drilling for drilled piers, caissons, and other deep foundation applications
- Read and understand project plans, specifications, and drilling requirements
- Set up and safely operate drilling equipment according to project requirements
- Assist with casing, rebar cages, anchor bolt cages, concrete placement, and related foundation activities
- Monitor drilling conditions, depths, alignment, and production to ensure quality work
- Perform daily equipment inspections and identify mechanical or operational issues
- Coordinate with foremen, laborers, equipment operators, and other members of the field crew
- Maintain a safe and organized work area around drilling operations
- Follow all company, OSHA, utility, and project-specific safety requirements
- Help keep projects on schedule while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality
- Travel to various project locations as needed
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of drilling experience in utility construction, heavy civil, foundations, or related industries
- Experience drilling for transmission lines, substations, drilled piers, foundations, or similar projects
- Experience operating large drilling equipment and working around heavy construction equipment
- Familiarity with drilling through varying soil and subsurface conditions
- Ability to understand drilling plans, foundation drawings, and project specifications
- Knowledge of drilled pier installation, casing, rebar, anchor bolts, and concrete placement is a plus
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine equipment inspections
- Ability to work outdoors in physically demanding conditions
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
- Commitment to jobsite safety and quality
- Willingness to travel extensively
Candidates can be based anywhere in the Midwest, South, East, or Central U.S. and must be willing to travel to project sites as needed.
